Jayant Chaudhari

Lok Sabha elections 2024 Preparations in the final stages. The India alliance is not getting time to recover from the continuous shocks. After Nitish Kumar in Bihar, only a formal announcement is left to give a big blow to Jayant Chaudhary alliance in UP. Jayant Chaudhary’s party’s political base in western Uttar Pradesh, known as Jatland, is considered to be Jat vote bank. Mainly the vote bank of Rashtriya Lok Dal has been farmers. RLD has been considered a party of the Kamera class. Jats and Muslims have been counted among the core voters of this party, but Jayant Chaudhary’s joining the BJP alliance can also bring new changes in the politics of this region.

Talking about India Alliance, Jayant Chaudhary’s exit from the alliance will definitely be a blow to the alliance, but the proposed march of farmers to Delhi on 13th February can prove to be a big challenge for Jayant. Jayant Choudhary, who does politics around farmers, will be able to satisfy the farmers by awarding Bharat Ratna to their biggest leader Choudhary Charan Singh, or can also assure them of major steps from the Central Government regarding their fundamental demands. But only time can tell what impact these promises and claims will have on farmers.

There are a total of 27 Lok Sabha seats in Western UP. Of these, in 14 seats of Meerut, Saharanpur and Moradabad divisions, the vote of Jats decides victory and defeat. Jayant Chaudhary’s party RLD has been playing a decisive role on these seats. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, out of these 14 seats, BJP had won only 7 seats, while out of 7 seats, BSP had won 4 and SP had won 3. This time under Mission 400, BJP wants to win all the 14 seats of Jatland in Western UP. BJP knows that this is not possible without the support of Jayant Chaudhary and his party. However, the death of more than 700 farmers in the farmers’ movement and the prolonged agitation has proved to be a big challenge for the BJP. This movement has bridged the gap between Jats and Muslims to a great extent. Political experts believe that if Jayant Chaudhary goes with BJP, then the regional politics here will become like an open field for any new party.

Emphasizing the political reasons for Jayant Choudhary’s joining BJP, political experts say that Jayant’s party’s account has not been opened in the last two Lok Sabha elections. Jayant Chaudhary does not want to take the risk of defeat for the third time in a row. Jayant feels that he is getting only seats in the India alliance, whereas by going with BJP he is getting guaranteed victory.
